...but I should have been better about my reaction. So this is what happened. I went to Church on Sunday wanting to be spiritually fed and uplifted. I was trying so hard. I was paying attention, I was being a good student of learning. However, I didn't get to pick the person who sat next to me. I was sitting by a girl who is very cynical and sarcastic. Now don't get me wrong, i can appreciate a good sarcastic comment when it's more humorous than cynical. After listening to jab after jab or mean comments about people teaching, people commenting, people walking in and out, people sneezing. Honestly she was being mean about everything...all the while playing games on her blackberry. I was doing good about trying to reply with something positive about the mean things she would say. That was until she made fun of my home state. I learned how much pride I have for my home state that day. I don't remember how she got into the comment I just remember the comment. It was, "Well, Wyoming is the armpit of the west." If we had not been in church I'm afraid that I would have hit her. Without more than a millisecond in passing I replied with, "Think what you may but it is where they taught me how to hide a body and any evidence of said body and person." I was provoked and I reacted. I didn't think I said it loud enough for many to hear but they did, all half of the room. Needless to say, the girl was quiet the last 5 minutes of Relief Society.
I really do try to be nice. Just don't make fun of my home state. :)
My roommates won't let me sit by this girl anymore. Thank heavens.

Ha ha! I love you! That makes me laugh. I calim to live in the armpit of the west, but have you ever been to Riverton? :) I think it's more like it's okay to pick on your siblings, but if someone else does, watch out, right? Anyway, you make me smile!
That is so funny Carolynn! I miss you. How dare she say that about Wyoming : )

That's too funny - good for you, girl! Miss ya - take care!
