New York City

I am very behind on blogging...but I will start back a couple of months or so for this one and then just try to stay caught up.  The end of September I got to go on a trip of a lifetime for me.  I went to New York City with my friend Kristy and her husband Matt.  It was a trip I will always remember.  There was so much to see and experience.  I will be honest with you, the first day I felt like a country hick trying to pretend to fit in the big city.  My first impression of the city was very bad.  It was dirty and smelly.  The people were rude and they didn't care about you.  The traffic was crazy both on the road and the sidewalks.  But something happened on that trip.

I fell in love with all of the things that I once hated.  I loved that the people didn't care about you, you could come, you could go...they don't care.  This city opened a whole new world to me.  I fulfilled one of my life long dreams of seeing a live Broadway production.  I would highly suggest seeing Wicked if you have not already seen it.  I wanted to see everything but was only able to see the one.  The excitement I felt when I was waiting for the show to start was like I was 5 years old waiting for Christmas.  It was incredible.  The world has been opened to so many possibilities for me from this trip.

My trip to New York City helped me to realize that I had been living my life without allowing myself to experience adventure.  In the past I was so concerned about making sure that I could pay for medication and other life necessities instead of working in fun into there as well.  It was a harsh reality that while I have been living life and enjoying what I have, I was not fully living life.  This trip changed that for me.

I have never had a city touch my heart so much that I long to be there every day.  I was only there for a few short days but even before leaving I vowed to come back in less than two years.  I have a longing to be there but I'm not sure if it's the actual place I want to be or the feelings of freedom and adventure that came with the trip.  It was much needed then and the pictures that I have are helping me keep that excitement alive while I try to figure out life now.

I am one that never thought I could love city so much...but I do.  I look forward to going back and
experiencing it all again.

Carolynn! I love NYC, too! Let's go together in two years!

P.S. Isn't the Statue of Liberty just breath taking? It's so much more impressive in person.

S-- I would love to go with you in two years! It's a plan!

I loved the Statue of Liberty. Breath taking is a great way to explain it. I'm so excited to go back.

Well if you are coming to NYC you might as well make a stop in DC - plus a free place to stay ...
